Why I Joined the CKC Team…
I’m passionate about using my creative skills to help others. What resonates with me most about CKC is the collective effort by everyday people to make real change. I enjoy being a part of our events and listening to doctors, families, and donors, each a piece of a larger community.
My personal mission is about using visual language to “translate”. Design can be another way to connect to people. We can translate complex research into something visually clear and compelling, express the energy behind an event, or transform someone’s story into a meaningful call to action.
My favorite CKC Memory…
My favorite memories with CKC would have to be either visiting with our doctors or interacting with our patient families. It is so cool to see the impact of what our staff does day-to-day, and hearing how passionate our doctors are about what they do. I also love the moments where kids get to just be kids – seeing them having fun and being silly.
One thing I wish more people knew…
That it’s significantly underfunded compared to adult cancers, despite the need for treatments specifically designed for children. Over the past two decades, only a handful of new drugs have been developed specifically for pediatric cancers. They rely on others to advocate for them, which makes continued funding by our communities critical to moving research forward.
These are a few of my favorite things…
Reading murder mysteries, seeing live music, doing puzzles, and singing karaoke!
