For nearly three decades, Glen Anderson served with the National Park Service, protecting “America’s Best Idea” while rising through the ranks. He found the greatest fulfillment in supporting others during times of need. Following his service, he founded Flat Hat International, LLC, providing executive protection, consulting, and commercial photography. Through his photography work with Mecum Auctions, he was introduced to Curing Kids Cancer and felt an immediate connection to its mission—now serving on its Board of Directors.
I was inspired to join the CKC mission because…
I was introduced to CKC at a Mecum Auction where I had the opportunity to hear founder Grainne Owen speak. Her story and message made an immediate impression. It was clear this was an organization where support translates directly into impact, and I knew I wanted to be involved.
The most impactful thing about serving on the CKC Board is…
Seeing how disciplined, ethical funding advances cutting-edge research and brings real hope for cures has been deeply meaningful. Meeting the physician-scientists behind the work—and the children and families whose lives have been touched by CKC—has made that impact truly personal.
One thing I wish more people knew about childhood cancer research is…
Childhood cancer research remains significantly underfunded, yet targeted investments—when managed with integrity and oversight—can make a profound difference. Greater awareness and support truly have the power to change outcomes.
