Following the overwhelming success of Curing Kids Cancer’s inaugural Georgia Fire Truck Pull, Community Coordinator Chelsea Herre is bringing the community together once again—this time for the first-ever Clays for a Cure.
When Chelsea Herre’s son Austin was diagnosed with childhood cancer, she experienced firsthand the fear, uncertainty and hope that every pediatric cancer family knows too well.
Today, Austin is a thriving six-year-old cancer survivor, and Chelsea has transformed her family’s journey into a mission to help other children facing cancer.
In 2025, Chelsea joined Curing Kids Cancer as Community Coordinator, bringing her passion for advocacy and community engagement to the organization. The inaugural Georgia Fire Truck Pull marked Chelsea’s first major event with Curing Kids Cancer, far exceeding expectations by drawing thousands of attendees and raising more than $60,000 to support innovative childhood cancer research at Emory University.
Now, she’s inviting the Georgia community to rally once again.
On Friday, October 9, Curing Kids Cancer will host its inaugural Clays for a Cure in Kingston, Georgia, bringing together outdoor enthusiasts, businesses and supporters for a day of sporting clays, friendly competition and a shared commitment to funding life-saving pediatric cancer research. The event’s theme, “Taking Aim Against Childhood Cancers,” reflects the organization’s mission to accelerate research that leads to safer, more effective treatments for children.
“For our family, this mission is deeply personal,” said Chelsea Herre, Community Coordinator for Curing Kids Cancer. “As a childhood cancer mom, I know what these families face every single day. Seeing our community come together for the Fire Truck Pull was incredible, and I’m excited to continue that momentum with Clays for a Cure. Every team, every sponsor and every participant helps bring us one step closer to better treatments and cures.”
The event welcomes shooters of all experience levels, including first-time participants, as well as businesses looking for a meaningful team-building opportunity.
