Mike Matulis is a former University of South Carolina football player, where he earned True Freshman All-American honors and was named team captain in 2015. After his football career, he pursued professional boxing in Houston, Texas. Mike now works in real estate with Century 21 in the Columbia area. Mike connected with Curing Kids Cancer after Grainne, CKC’s President, reached out to him. Inspired by his faith and his daughter Mia’s cancer journey, Grainne learned Mia was diagnosed at three months old and treated by Dr. Cramer at Prisma Health with Larotrectinib, a targeted therapy that ultimately led to her being cancer-free. Now, Mike is joining CKC’s mission. He will participate in the South Carolina Fire Truck Pull, leading a team in honor of his strong and resilient Mia.
