About this Atlanta Charity Event

Join Curing Kids Cancer as we celebrate our initial First and Gold Gala.  Curing Kids Cancer focuses on funding some of the world's most innovative and cutting-edge treatments for childhood cancers.

The evening features exclusive and interactive all-access passes to the new College Football Hall of Fame, a cocktail reception, silent & live auctions, a 3-course dinner and live music from our featured artist, Eric Dodd.  Special guests include College Football Hall of Fame Inductee and former NFL offensive lineman Randy Cross, plus SEC Network studio analyst Tony Barnhart ("Mr. College Football"). This paramount black tie event is surely not to be missed!

Most notably, your patronage at the First and Gold Gala will support the mission of Curing Kids Cancer — to turn all childhood cancers from life-threatening diseases into curable ones in our lifetime. Some recent recipients of Curing Kids Cancer’s support have included:

  • A $1.5 Million endowment to establish the Killian Owen Curing Kids Cancer Clinical Research Office at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where at least one hundred innovative therapies are now available to children treated there.

  • The purchase of a patent to enable Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago to make a medicine, which had been discontinued by the drug company, so they could continue to use it to treat children with brain tumors.

  • A three-year, $525,000 commitment, to train Doctor Eric Schafer at Texas Children’s Cancer & Hematology Centers in the pharmacology of childhood cancer, making him one of only six doctors in the country trained to understand the precise way drugs work for children suffering with cancer.
